Survey and Appraisal
Bringing together the largest concentration of ASA Marine Appraisers in the industry
With over 50 years of experience, DLS Marine leads the marine vessel and equipment appraisal industry with the largest concentration of NAMS-CMS surveyors and American Society of Appraisers (ASA) Senior Commercial Marine Appraisers, including six ASA-accredited appraisers who focus entirely on the maritime segment.
Partnering with vessel operators, financial institutions, private equity firms and underwriters, we take a holistic look at vessel sales and offerings to develop an opinion of the market value of the vessel if it were to sell in market today – considering cost approach, sales comparison approach and the income approach.
We appraise all types of commercial vessels, yachts, ships, and marine related equipment and supplies, including heavy construction equipment, cranes, and rolling stock. We also maintain an extensive computer database of over 12,000 vessels of all types valued by our office and have digital access to domestic and international vessel databases.
Types of Valuations

Condition & Valuation for Insurance (C&V)
Receive the detailed description, general condition, recommendations for safe operation, navigation limits, and an estimated Fair Market Value and Replacement Cost of a vessel and/or equipment in today’s market.
Estimated Orderly Liquidation (OLV) and Forced Liquidation (FLV)
